Yana Rai is an actress, producer, director, and singer, a woman who doesn’t just create projects, but entire worlds.
She began her acting career in 2022 with a role in the short film Capsule of Fear, directed by Natasha Ivanova. Just a month later, she appeared in her first commercial for her own brand, RAI LAB, a pheromone-based fragrance line — not only as the face of the campaign, but also as its creative mind.
That same year, she joined the cast of a short horror film shot in Poland, working alongside actor Tom Huang and director Artyom Shapkho. The film received critical acclaim and won Best Horror at Berlin Film Festival.Captivated by the world of cinema, Yana soon launched her first feature film, Sofia, where she played the lead role and served as producer. The film was presented at major international film markets in Berlin, Cannes, Venice, and Budapest.
In parallel, she explored her directorial talent — creating visual campaigns for RAI LAB and directing a short film submitted to Cannes Lions.
In 2023, Yana was cast in the international romantic comedy When Will You Marry Me?, portraying the vibrant and unforgettable Marin. Her charm and presence left a lasting mark on audiences.
In 2024, she returned as both producer and actress in her second feature film — a Kazakh co-production — where she played Yulia, a bold and ambitious assistant to a powerful oligarch, in the movie Gold'n'Rahat. Even before filming wrapped in Almaty, she was offered a role in the sequel to When Will You Marry Me?, with production set to begin shortly.
